SLFF Conference in Stockholm So…. now I have experienced my very first writers conference and met with educational writers from all over Sweden. The lunch-to-lunch event was very well organized with great content and the food was delicious! :)
I had decided to observe and listen, just taking it all in and enjoying myself without any obligations. My plan worked well the second day, but not as well on the first... I have so much experience and I am so interested and engaged in educational and digital development that I find it so difficult to just be quiet... :( It may have selective hearing or maybe I’m tuned in on negativity or could it be there is a common belief that technology and digital tools have a negative input in a learning environment...? There was only one positive example of how teachers can use iPads in education - but no other positive examples of digitalization, at least none that I am aware of! The theme of the conference was theme: "The textbook in a digital world." I am starting to think there can be a pattern here… Is there a conflict between using textbooks or digital tools – not both? I don’t know for a fact but... what do you think?

![]() What totally amazing days I have been a part of!! Imagine being able to work with the topics you are passionate about and on top of that, you have the world's best team to work with!! I must say that our ESP days here in Stockholm with Apple and MacSupport were quite a success! What is the ESP? It means Education Strategic Planning and is about jointly planning and structuring the change process that needs to be implemented in order to reach the vision and goal of the organization! We worked with processes the whole day - both on the basis of common problems with examples in the large group, but also in the so-called round-table talks. Round-table talks are very popular and effective, each table represents an important topic included in the change process. The group at each table is led by a moderator who is an "expert" on the topic. The moderator both leads and challenges the group members for knowledge development and exchange of experiences. I have attended many seminars as a moderator for "Visionary Leadership" – there have been lots of discussions but all unique and tremendously interesting and informative. I am grateful to be a part of this development! Thanks to everyone who helped and shared experiences and wisdom - I learn new things every time! Have a great weekend! To lead - is a verb. This verb means action!! How do you lead? Not just what you think about you doing – what do you actively implement as a leader to develop your business?
This is an interesting topic – especially in discussions about digitalization – it’s so easy to talk about what others are doing or not doing – but take a look at yourself, what are you actually doing? Now it is more important than ever to be aware of the signals you are sending as a leader - if you say, "It is important that we use our digital tools to be confident in the environments where we work in together with students." You need to practice as you preach. If you instead are always working with pen and paper there will be a discrepancy and this will create a problem with credibility, don’t you agree? |
